On Tuesday, November 15th, I will be participating on a Cybercrimes panel at Slippery Rock University. It will be held from 12:30-1:30 at the MPR. Here is the description of the panel:
We are having a Cybercrimes Panel that is facilitated by the Bridge Project @ the Women’s Center, OSCRS, SRU Police, IT, and the Communications Department. There has been a dramatic increase in phone calls and referrals related to technology-based stalking, harassment, and threatening behaviors. The panel of experts will provide a brief overview of what has been happening on our campus from their perspectives and then open the floor to the audience for a question and answer session. Below are the people who will make up the panel: • Police perspective: Officer Patti Forester, University Police • Student Code of Conduct perspective: Leigh Ann Datt, Office of Student Conflict Resolution Services • Victim/Survivor perspective: Karla Fonner, Women’s Center • Counseling perspective: Dr. Jason Braun, Student Counseling Center • Criminology perspective: Dr. Rebecca Schnupp, Criminology & Criminal Justice • Communications perspective (Freedom of Speech/ Media): Dr. Thomas Flynn, Professor Doug Strahler, Communication Department • IT perspective: Eric Perry, Graduate Assistant SRU student perspective: Victoria Deavor
